Snickers

We finally got a pet!! Brett brought home a little kitty last night and was, once again, a hero in the kids' eyes. Even though it means some extra work for us, it is sooo worth it to see how excited they are. It is a pretty cute little thing and after much debate we settled on the name Snickers.

Erin has developed an ingenious method for catching and carrying the poor kitty. She throws her blanket on top of him then scoops it up in a big wad and packs him around like that. So far he's pretty tolerant.

Sabrina was so excited she had to call Anna and have her come over and see.

Apparently the kitty is already trying to escape (under the fence) the crazy twosome.... can't say that I blame him.

Our Weekend Getaway

Brett and I escaped to California last weekend and had a fabulous time sans the kids. (Thanks BeckyAnn, Kendra, Jenny & etc!!!) The highlight of the weekend was going to see "Wicked," but we had fun at the beach, Magic Mountain, the other sites shown below and just being together.

Masses of humanity...54,000 people in one stadium and the busy LA freeways were a bit of a shock to us country kids....!

The theater where "Wicked" was playing was right in Hollywood so we went down a few hours early to explore. There just happened to be a premiere that night and even though we didn't hang around with the rest of the paprazzi to see the limos and the stars we did hear them screaming later even though we were several blocks away. The movie was "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." I've never heard of it and don't know who is in it.... I just hope it wasn't Matthew McConaughey and I missed my chance! Ha ha.

Playtime with Cousin Bo

Cousin Bo got to come over for a playdate and I snapped these colorful pictures while they were all playing together.

Things were going well for a while but then I guess Bo decided he had had enough!

Climbing the Cherry Tree

Sabrina loves climbing the tree in our back yard. Usually I just try not to watch because she gets so high up there and it scares me, but she wanted me to take her picture and I realized it is better to do it now before the leaves come on. A few days later, she actually climbed a few feet higher, touching the very highest branches with her fingertips. Yikes!

Joslyn likes to climb also, but isn't quite so daring. Erin is also getting into the act and begs me to lift her up into the tree. She will climb around in the lower branches and has even managed to jump/slide/fall out of the tree--getting down on purpose--with only a few scrapes.

At the Park

Sabrina and Joslyn were out of school Friday, April 4, so we took a field trip out to Brett's new office in Nampa. After checking out his work space and saying hi to some of his co-workers we went to a nearby park for a picnic lunch and playtime. It doesn't seem like very many parks have merry-go-rounds anymore but we (me, S, and J) were pretty excited to have Brett push us and really get going fast. Unfortunately this antique needed a major dose of WD-40. It was really sticky and slow, even with both Brett and I pushing. The kids had a great time on all the other equipment and now they know where Daddy is when he's at work.

Tetherball Princess

One of Joslyn's favorite things to do at recess time is to play tetherball and here she is in action!
She also loves soccer and socializing with her friends.

Chug-chug-chug-chug...

(Is that the sound a tractor makes?!!)

Blake had a fun time on the old tractor (shown here) and even got a ride on Grandpa's big new tractor.
