Reno Trip I

Last Thursday the kids and I went down to Reno, Nevada for a long weekend. Brett is working on a groundwater treatment plant in Hawthorne, about 2 hours south of Reno. We spent one nightat his little apartment and also visited his jobsite, then spent the rest of the weekend in Reno.

Blake has now become obsessed with planes. He would literally jump up and down while watching the planes take off and land at the airport. He loved being in the plane and feeling the rush of takeoff and the turbulance. We bought him a six-inch F-16 while there and now he takes it everywhere with him, even to bed. It's so cute....and so boyish. The girls enjoyed flying too (they were pretty young the last time) but have never had that kind of intense fascination.

Sabrina and Joslyn's obsession on this trip would have to be a toss-up between the Disney Channel (we don't have cable) and the pool at the hotel. They love all those pre-teen Disney shows like Hannah Montana and Witches of Waverly Place. I am not crazy about them, but once or twice a year I guess it's okay. As for the pool, they spent 2 1/2 hours there one afternoon, with nothing but each other to play with. They like to pretend they are in the Olympics and race using different strokes and different rules. Thank you, Micheal Phelps.

Erin was probably the worst traveler. She wanted to go home most of the time. She did like the other Disney shows, Mickey Mouse Club, etc and the pool. Her attention span for most other things was pretty short, even for a 3-year-old. She definitely didn't like eating at restaurants. She still takes naps somedays so I think she was just overtired.

All in all, a good time--it was good for the kids to see where their dad disapears to every Monday morning.
