Joslyn Turns Eight!!

Joslyn and a couple of friends partied it up for her eighth birthday. As part of the celebration we attended the new American Girl movie, "Kit Kitteridge," then home for pizza, cake, ice cream, and presents.

Here's Eden, Kit, Kit, Joslyn, and Sabrina at the movie theater. See any resemblance between Kit and Joslyn??

Even though she's officially eight now, I'm not sure if she's really growing UP. We went school shopping last night and she is still in size 6 jeans. (Just like me!! Ha ha.)

What's New With Us

Yeah, it's been a while. We've been so busy enjoying the summer that I haven't made time to update the blog. Not to mention I forgot to bring my camera to a couple of fun outings. I love have the kids home from school--really I do. It is more chaotic with two more voices saying, "Mom, mom!" but we love being free and unscheduled. Sabrina and Joslyn have really stepped it up with their chores and are really great with Blake and Erin, playing preschool etc. I am really going to need their help keeping the little ones entertained since we have just begun a TV diet--no TV or computer games for four weeks as challenged by our Stake President.

My ankle is 95% now. I haven't started running again yet, but I think I will soon. It seems strong enough. So glad to have all that behind me.

Now, our big news. If I haven't had a chance to tell you in person or you haven't heard through the grapevine....I am pregnant, due Jan 4. Hurray! Well, I'm excited to have a baby anyway, not quite so excited about the pregnant part. The girls just get more involved and interested with each one and even Erin tells me when the baby is eating and sleeping and wants to be held.

Well, gotta run. Maybe someday I will make some changes to this blah layout and update the favorites. Keep checking back though...I have big plans, just little time.

Gma and Gpa's Farm

We spent a week with my mom and dad on their farm in Kamiah and had a blast. Blake, especially loved all the trucks, tractors, cows, and four-wheeler. Erin loved the kittens and Sabrina and Joslyn loved playing with their cousins, Tyler and Lindsay. I just enjoyed being out in the country and reminiscing. Watching the kids experience it all was the best part though.

Here We Go, Again.

Beware: if the bathroom door is locked and Erin is nowhere to be found, trouble is brewing.... Fortunately for me, I wasn't home when this particular incident occured so you-know-who got to clean up. Sweet!
Brett's still not sure how I can get this stuff off my face since it took him a half hour to clean it all up. He's just lucky she didn't get the mascara open!

Piano Man II

I must have a hundred pictures of the backs of my kids sitting at the piano, but I just think it's so cute. (Can't get over how sweet the back of Blake's neck and cute little ears are. It's one of the best things about having a little boy.)
Here Brett was brushing up on his musical talents and Blake climbed up to join in.

Summer Activities

Sabrina started off the summer with Jump Rope Camp and Joslyn did Cheer Camp. Here are some pics of their grand finales.

She's a pro at double dutch now, doing double-unders and some other cool tricks.

Joslyn marching in the Eagle Fun Days parade--in the white shirt on the far right. She learned a fun dance and a short cheer.

After Joslyn's turn in the parade, these two scouted for candy and waited to get doused by the fire trucks in the wet 'n wild part of the parade, shown below.

Summer is Here!

Blake and Erin (and their cousin Shaylee hidden behind Blake) had a great time in the backyard on a warm day in mid-May. My sister Cristy came over to take care of me while I was still on crutches and she set up the pool and sprinklers for the kids. I just sat in a lawn chair and watched!

Just like his sisters before him, Blake is already a water-bug. He can't get enough!

The rest of these pictures were taken on Memorial Day in Barrett and Kendra's backyard. We had a fun picnic followed by croquet, swinging, and lots of bunny chasing. Sabrina played a few rounds with Kendra, Brett, and Boyd. I think Joslyn was just the judge.

Bo and Blake Bishop....we hope these two have lots of fun times growing up together.

Joslyn is flying high on the tire swing. All of the kids love having Barrett swing them.

Erin was obsessed with Lulu, the bunny. She seems to be able to read its mind, telling us, "It wants to go in its house." Or, "It wants to get some lunch." She, James, and Eden chased it all over the yard and even caught it a few times.
